6 years by kexolino 6 years by kexolino
The GTK theme is about 6 years old, made by a guy who has left deviantArt (and also Linux) also about 6 years ago. I love it. It has a classic feeling to it, opposed to the super smooth stuff usually made nowadays. It's interesting to see how much our preference changed over the years (I only switched to Linux about 2 years ago, but I did use it before that too)...

looks a bit like litestyle does it not? the gtk2 i mean.
nice setup though. excellent use of wallpaper.
as for the standard taste today.. i don't mind different styles, modern, retro, if i spends so much time in a UI every day, i like a variety.
all's good as long as it's not overly glossy and knobby :)
and round :)

It does, but I think it's the other way around. Interesting about the roundness, when I first started using OB I really wanted it to do round, but now I prefer the box look :)

[link] This is one of my favorite 'oldies'. Only four years old, but I certainly agree that, before GNOME 3 and Unity, we had a much different concept of what made a good theme. Times certainly do change- I love it when people can successfully use bright colors in a theme.

That's nice too. I'll spend some time collecting these classics I think. It'll be worth it, especially since GTK3 is slowly taking over...

Well, it would be quite fun to take the best defunct themes and port them to GTK 3, especially since, in all likelihood, QGtkStyle will have a GTK 3 version in the next few years.

I'm actually planning to try learning GTK3 theming by porting this theme. I might fail, but at least I'll learn :P
